UnRecipes * Two In Your Pocket

Much like the Goat Cheese and Sun-dried Tomato Spread from a couple of weeks ago, today’s post features unrecipes. These preparations are so simple that it really cannot be called anything more. I needed both of these for my dinner party last Friday. There will be a post about that as well, but it is a much bigger post, and I need more time to pull it together. So in the meantime, here are the two unrecipes. One is an appetizer, and one is a jam. Unrecipe #1: Mediterranean Olive Tapenade with Lemon and Rosemary Ok, this tapenade is the…

Laherte Frères Champagne Wine Dinner

A few weeks ago, I had the honor of attending the Laherte Frères Champagne Dinner at Edmund’s Oast. All of the wine dinners I have gone to at Edmund’s Oast have been a lot of fun as well as great learning experiences. But I was super excited about this one because I have a significant knowledge deficit when it comes to the art of champagne. Hawk and Horse Vineyards

Vineyards and wineries come in all shapes and sizes. Some wineries make a wide variety of wines, and some make just a few. Hawk & Horse Vineyards is one that makes a few and specializes in estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon.  I recently received a sample of two of their wines from Lake County, Red Hills AVA and I wanted to share their story and their wines with you. Where is Lake County and Red Hills AVA? Lake County is the next county north of Napa County. Where is Hawk and Horse within the Red Hills AVA? It’s at the southern edge.…

Goat Cheese Spread with Two Ingredients

Today, I have got the simplest goat cheese recipe for you. But before I get to that, I wanted to let you know that I am branching out a bit. As part of the Strong Coffee to Red Wine brand, I will be producing small scale, private, invitation-only wine tasting events from wineries that do not have retail nor on-premise wine distribution in South Carolina, but can be shipped directly from the winery. These are wines that you will never find unless you go to the source (the winery) either in person or online. And who wouldn’t love to taste…

Edison James Island * A Neighborhood Fave

When Spring temperatures rise, and the sun is up later into the evening we get the urge to get out of the house. That means dining out with friends and family much more frequently.  A couple of weeks back and within five days, we went to Edison James Island twice. So clearly we have fallen for this place. But Before I Get To That I wanted to apologize for not posting at all last week. My job that brings home the bacon was in great demand and it took all my time to focus on my clients. But I am…
