A Rose by any other name: Rosé

There is no doubt that at least in the south, it is rosé season.  For Gary and I that season lasts all year, but for most, rosé is saved for the warmer months.  Please note, I had planned to have reviews of about 5-6 rosé wines, but my allergies totally messed that up.  Over the weekend I tried two 2016 vintages from wineries  I have loved in the past but I really couldn’t tell you if I was drinking water or wine and I can’t imagine that is the wine’s fault.  My nose is a mess and my palate is coated if you…

Fitted Sheets, Knives, Lemonade and Moulin De Gassac

Folding the Dreaded Fitted Sheet Recently, I heard a Facebook friend lamenting the difficulty of folding a fitted sheet.  I too am in that same camp, but fortunately for me, I have Gary.  He is a pro at “the fitted sheet”.  He learned at 15 years old when he was employed at a Howard Johnson’s Motel and had to learn the correct way to do it.  You know back when hotels and motels actually used fitted sheets.  So here is a video of him doing his thing while he was doing some laundry last weekend. HS Reunion, Bleu Appetizer and Pinks Arrive

A Not So Little  – BIG Thing   Go to your high school reunion. When I was doing research about creating this blog, everywhere I read said you have to be real.  Be honest.  Open up your life to your readers.  Give them something to connect to.  Hmmm, not sure about that.  Then I went to my 40th high school reunion last September and it has had a huge impact on me so I wanted to share my experience with you.  I started writing this back in September but it is finally ready to share.   That said, my heart is racing…

A Trip to Trader Joe’s & a Mea Culpa

And so we shopped Most of the wines I blogged about last week were either hard to find or marginal at best.  Mea culpa, mea culpa!   So this past weekend we did some serious wine shopping.  We had been lax in our wine purchases because our 60 bottle wine fridge stopped working before the holidays.  And we just did not have a chance to research for a new one.  We took care of that on Friday and are now stocking up for when the fridges arrive.  Yes, I said wine fridges…more on that next post.  So like I said, we…

Work Life Balance and A Glass of Wine

The Weekly Pour Work Life Balance On Sunday, I was very conflicted as Gary and I were invited to a work associate/friend’s house for the afternoon and early dinner.  Conflicted because I felt guilty for not staying home and working.  Work life balance is a big issue for me since I work from home.  I work every day usually all day.  When I am on a deadline I can work until 10:00pm or later.  I love what I do so it does not “feel” like work, but it is work all the same.  One of the things that I do to…
