Hanna Winery & Vineyards

I had been looking forward to this day for months. I got to mingle with other bloggers, taste great wines and learn, learn, learn. This is Wine Bloggers Conference 2017, day one. This day was jam-packed starting with a tour and gourmet luncheon with pairings at Hanna Winery & Vineyards followed by a Zinfandel tasting, a Pinot Noir tasting and then the opening reception with tasting tables called, “Wines of the World.” Whew! If it sounds like a lot, it was. I was overwhelmed. The highlight of this day was Hanna Winery and Vineyards, so let’s go! Hanna Winery & Vineyards We…

Lioco Wines: Rosé and Chardonnay

We “fell backward” this past weekend and so my “standard time blues” should be arriving anytime.  I hate when daylight savings time is over because I feel like it is always dark. I know morning folks deserve lightness too but that is not me and I am feeling selfish at the moment. Needing to pamper myself just a bit, it gave me an excuse to “sample” two wines on Sunday from Lioco Winery.   Ugh… I need a nap. Heading to Sonoma & Napa Wine Country on Wednesday On Wednesday, I head out west to the 2017 Wine Bloggers Conference. It is held…

What I’ve Been Drinking… Week 41

Wine opportunities were plentiful over the last couple of weeks.  While drinking some wines, I went deep. Others were just a passing glass. But if I drank it, you will hear about it and see a picture of the bottle. Crazy, but I also now understand why it took me so long to love white wine. It is a “duh” moment when I think about it… but hey, live and learn. But before we go any further… Sonoma and Napa and the rest of California are in our hearts as they battle some of the worst wildfires in decades. May the…

Cheers: Sandhi Chard & Gobelsburg Rosé

Cheers to ya and Happy Wednesday. As the introduction to the first wine that I want to share with you, I need to bring up that book I just finished, Cork Dork.  About half way through the book there is a chapter titled, “The Orgy.” It is all about an exclusive wine event in New York City called La Paulée.  Imagine an event that costs $1,500 to attend, AND you have to bring your own bottle from your cellar. And not just any bottle either, it has to be a “treasure” aka extremely expensive and rare.  Ok, you get my…

Two Amazing Wines: Out of the Park!

It was on Friday evening at “happy hour” when Gary, Eve and I drank the wines I am sharing with you today.  First, a bit about my friend Eve. We have worked together for years in the wedding business and became fast friends. Known for its high-stress situations and perhaps a Bridezilla as well, weddings have a way of bringing vendors together, as we bond over the craziness of that day. She and I have been on opposite schedules for months, so we needed some private time to do some serious catching up. So on this night, we talked and we…
