In the thirteen years that I have lived here in the Lowcountry I have been blessed to work with a camera in my hand. They call it the lowcountry because we are at or below sea level. Thousands of years ago we would have been underwater and yet we still live here. The lowcountry is a magical place that can cast it’s spell on you. One whiff of pluff mud and you are either repelled or in love.
Charleston, Oh Charleston!
By far, Charleston is one of the most beautiful American cities you will ever visit. It one of the very old American cities with centuries of history, both good and bad. It is quaint and charming and the people are both friendly and polite. I never imagined that I would leave Chicago but I did and I love my adopted home. Apparently a lot of others also love Charleston since 34 people move to Charleston every day. That means that Charleston is growing at 3 times the national average. The roads are a bit more crowded but it’s still a beautiful place. I hope that you agree.
Since many of my posts are shall we say wordy, I thought today I would be more visual. So please indulge me as I share some of the images I have captured since making the Lowcountry my home. As a wedding photographer I am generally out at night so many of these images are opportunities that presented themselves at night while at the wedding. But I have also been known to just wander with my camera just for fun.
So sit back and enjoy.. Charleston and the Lowcountry… from my point of view.
Thanks for taking the time to see Charleston from my POV. It has been a great ride so far with lots more adventures ahead.
That’s all for now.
